Veredicto: The safest used line array you can put on a rider. Budget for the amplifier and fly bar, and check that the rigging cheeks have not been straightened.

RCF HDL 6-A

Ideal para: Compact clubs and 200-400 capacity rooms

Ventajas

  • Active, so no amplifier rack needed
  • Light enough for two-person hangs
  • Wide 90-degree coverage
  • Cheap to re-cone

Desventajas

  • Less rider recognition than d&b
  • Limited low-end on its own
  • Plastic cheek wear on older units
Veredicto: The best value entry into line array work. Pairs well with RCF 18-inch subs and needs very little truck space.

RCF HDL 30-A

Ideal para: Mid-size venues that want one-box simplicity

Ventajas

  • More output than the HDL 6-A
  • Active with onboard DSP
  • Common in Asia, so parts are easy

Desventajas

  • Larger and heavier
  • Special order only at the moment

Each system was scored on four criteria: rider acceptance (can you send it out without a client complaint), serviceability (driver and amplifier availability), rigging condition (what fails first on used units) and resale value after three more years. Scores are weighted equally. No supplier paid for placement.

Preguntas frecuentes

How many line array modules do I need per side?

For a room with a 12-18 metre throw, four to six modules per side is typical. Above 20 metres, plan for eight per side and a sub array. Send us the room dimensions and we will model it.

Do used line arrays come with fly bars?

Not always. Fly bars, bumpers and link plates are often sold separately because they are the parts that get lost. Always price the full hang, not just the cabinets.

Is a grade B line array safe to hang?

Only after a rigging inspection. We check every pin, cheek plate and bolt before listing, and we will not sell a cabinet with a cracked rigging plate, whatever the cosmetic grade.
